Meeting 15 May 2011

Normally after a meeting I would put out some minutes to let the people who couldn’t make it know what was discussed…sadly I have no minutes to state because no one besides myself made the meeting.

Hello everyone I’m Ernie the new Coordinator for the KnoxGSA Org.  Wanted to say Hi and to give everyone a heads up on whats going on.

1. We are going to be having the next meeting for May at SIPS instead of the church.  This meeting should be held on May 15th.  Will let you know as the date gets closer.  Would really like to see as many people as possibly can make the next meeting come join us.

2. Need everyone to start thinking about the upcoming fair to be held in July and if you would like to help work the booth that the GSA will be having again this year.

3. I’m going to be calling the Knox County Convention Bureau in order to try and set a table up for first Fridays.  Would really like to know who would be interested in setting at the table and showing support for the LGBT community in Knox County.

4. If you have a face book page please friend the Knox County GSA page.  I have already started updating it.

5. Also our funds are starting to get low.  We have an anonymous donor that will match 1 for 1 monies raised up to  200.00, please dig into your wallets and purses and show your support that can be deducted from your taxes.

6. Also looking to get the social side of this org going.  Looking forward to hearing any and all ideas to make us better able to hang out and get to know each other.  We will still be doing everything that we’ve done in the past but looking to have a more friendly  gatherings were we are just getting to know each other and have a safe place to socialize and make friends.

Hoping to meet and chat with each and everyone of you in the near future.  If you have any ideas or view points that you would like to share with me, please feel free to either use this medium or my face book page.  Also please free to friend me  and Knox Country GSA on face book.  Again looking forward to a great time to be had by all.

Ernie

March Meeting

Now that the sun is out, our first GSA meeting of the year is March 20, 6:00pm, at First Congregational Church, 200 North Main St. Mount Vernon.
NEW FOLKS WELCOME.
It’s been a long winter–DADT is heading out, DOMA close behind, so let’s keep up the momentum for Knox County.
Agenda includes:
–Fair Booth–we’ve already heard from the Fair people, who are enthusiastic for us to run our booth again.
–Laramie Project followup
–Summer Pride Events for Knox County. First Fridays?
–Preview next fall–it’s never too early to plan for Halloween, our new Mount Vernon downtown tradition.
See you March 20!

Laramie Project

The cast of the Laramie Project–entirely from MV High School–met
